A very unique flavour, really enjoy it with tonic.
This is a different gin. Not juniper forward, nor as botanical. The woody notes from the casks comes through immediately. It’s not a usual flavour for gin. But I quite like it. With tonic, it opens up the minty note a bit. But the cask taste still lingers. Perhaps with a bit more of the botanicals in the process of making, the wood note would take a step back. But then it would be different from what Top Shelf are creating. Good job!
Bought the very first batch of this aged gin and I absolutely love it, especially with a quality ginger beer. Highly recommend it as a base spirit in a cocktail that has some oomph. Enjoy!
My first foray into barrel-aged gins, and definitely a pleasant surprise - this interesting spirit retains the flavour notes and complexity from the gin while adding some earthiness and wood, all while rounding out the taste and mouthfeel. Really nice in a classic cocktail like a Manhattan or similar. Cheers!
Sufficient flavour that it doesn’t require excessive mix. On the rocks with sparkling water was delicious. Mixed with Fevertree tonic water was unique in that there was a sweeter note and no bitter juniper taste.
Great gin! Very tasty.
I have six or eight different gins, but they all live in my freezer. This is the first gin I've had that I'm drinking at room temperature...not even putting ice in it yet, it's just so good neat. Maybe by the summer, I'll drop some into a Negroni, but I'm sure that would hide all the fantastic nuances that the barrel-aging brings. I sampled it immediately, and t's so good that well before the delivery driver could have made it back to the freeway, I had already ordered another bottle online. Great job! Thanks!
This was our first time with barrel-aged gin. We love it. I'm worried that it's going to run out too soon. No, really: we are very, very happy with our purchase. If you like this kind of thing, then you will like this product.
Although this Top Shelf Reserve Barrel Aged Gin is smooth, it tastes more like a whiskey with a hint of cinnamon. I'm a whiskey lover, but if I'm going to have a drink of Gin, I would much prefer the flavour of Gin, so I'm only rating it a 3 star.
I already enjoyed the regular gin from Top Shelf so when I saw this barrel aged option I jumped at the chance. It took a while to get, but it was well worth the wait. Very smooth and easy to drink.
Great tasting gin for sipping or enjoying in a simple cocktail. Goes great with Ginger Ale or in an Old Fashion.
This gin is incredible! It's so unique and really is the best of two worlds. Can't recommend it enough!
This gin made me long for Gini we used to buy at The Pop Shoppe! My bottle is already history!
I’m definitely a gin drinker and decided to give this new gin with the barrel aging a try.....it is excellent!! Absolutely lovely on ice or straight up!! Love it!!
It was nice to purchase and enjoy this barrel aged gin. You could sense the wintergreen and carmelised citrus. Well done.
Truly and exceptional gin that goes beyond the regular, often mediocre combination of botanicals that many other distilleries put to market. The barrel aging adds a complex twist to spirit that comes together to taste like a gingerbread cookie (not the sweet type) made with a twist of citrus.

With our Perth Whisky we use a grain blend and for our Top Shelf Gin we use a 100% corn spirit. With our Reserve Barrel Aged Gin, which uses 100% corn spirit, you are getting all of the notes of the American oak barrel similar to our Whisky, but without the grain flavour.
Only the best American oak barrels from Kelvin Cooperage are used for our Top Shelf Distillers Reserve line. The Barrel Aged Gin uses a new American oak with a char #3.
No, this is a revival of old practices. In the late 18th century and early 19th century, barrels were used to transport gin as a cost effective and safe way to travel. Barrel aged gin has been making a comeback over the past decade.
