This brightly coloured cocktail is a berry forward blend of blueberry, blackberry, and wildberries brightened up with some lemon juice. The star anise adds a subtle aroma that pairs excellently with the berry flavours of this cocktail. The Bramble-On cocktail is Top Shelf’s interpretation of the now classic Bramble cocktail. The Bramble is traditionally made with a Creme de Mure liqueur, but we love the flavour of fresh blackberries so much that we decided this was the best route to go with. Can’t beat fresh berries when they’re in season! If you wish to recreate this cocktail during the berry off season, the syrup can also be made with frozen berries.
- 1 ½ oz Top Shelf Gin
- ¾ oz Blackberry Syrup*
- ¾ oz Lemon Juice
- Dominion City Berry Whip Seltzer
- 4 Dashes Top Shelf Blueberry Bitters
- Lemon Zest
- Whole Star Anise pod
Double Rocks Glass
In a double Rocks glass, add Top Shelf Gin, Blueberry Bitters and lemon juice. Fill the glass with cracked ice. Top with Dominion City Berry Whip Seltzer leaving about an inch of space from the rim. Drizzle the blackberry syrup over the cocktail, creating a marbled effect. Garnish with a lemon twist and a whole star anise.
