Top Shelf Reserve Barrel Aged Martinez
This slight variation of the classic Martinez is sure to please the palate of the modern imbiber. The Martinez was the cocktail that inspired some of today's more popular classics such as the Manhattan and eventually, the Dry Martini. The original recipe calls for either Old Tom Gin or London Dry Gin, but by substituting with Top Shelf Reserve Barrel Aged Gin, it adds a level of class and a bit more depth of flavour than the traditional variation. This version of the Martinez also uses slightly less sweet (red) vermouth, ensuring the oakiness and aged flavour of the Barrel Aged Gin truly shine. You may choose any sweet vermouth to build this cocktail, but for an even more refined sipping experience, we recommend Cocchi Di Torino, a delightfully rich and impressive Italian vermouth. You may also opt for some Dolin Rouge if you care to have a bit of a French touch.
