The Ward
The Ward is a classic whisky cocktail that was created in Boston. In fact, the original recipe is called the Ward 8. For this version, we toned down the amount of whisky needed and amped up the orange juice for an easier to drink and more approachable cocktail for all to enjoy. A touch of cardamom is added to add a unique twist on the classic and compliment the flavours of the orange. Well balanced, beautiful colour and unique flavour, even whisky haters can't say no to this wonderfully approachable drink.
INGREDIENTS
- 1½ oz Perth Whisky
- 1 oz Orange Juice
- ½ oz Lemon Juice
- 2 tsp Grenadine Syrup
- 2 Dashes Top Shelf Cardamom Bitters
GARNISH
- Whole Star Anise
GLASSWARE
- Coupe Glass
DIRECTIONS
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add all ingredients except the garnish. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds until thoroughly chilled. Double strain into a Coupe glass. Garnish wit a piece of whole star anise.
