The Distillery That Grows Trees

Earth Day 2022 is a big day for Top Shelf!
On November 1st 2018, Top Shelf Distillers announced a commitment to planting a tree for every bottle sold. Years later, we are rooting our commitment further by launching a start-up to grow upwards of 500,000 tree seedlings per year.

 ✨ Introducing #MoreTrees. ✨

Demand currently exceeds supply when it comes to tree planting services since the Federal Government announced its undertaking of planting 2 billion trees. With limited supply and rising costs for seedlings, we needed to think differently. Harvesting our own seedlings allows for a growing supply to meet our goal of 500,000 tree seedlings by 2023. What a single tree can do is remarkable and #MoreTrees is in perfect alignment with Top Shelf Distillers’ commitment to making a measurable difference in sustainability.

Why Trees Matter?

Trees help the fight against climate change
Trees clean the air
Trees prevent erosion
Trees protect and foster our ecosystems
Trees are great for our mental, emotional and physical health

We sincerely believe in using our business as a platform for real, action-oriented change. Corporations locally and globally have done a lot of damage to the environment and our communities.

We see #MoreTrees as a way to recover the damage made in the past and to seed the future, starting locally.

With a large part of our customer base in Eastern Ontario, we plan to make a gradual and positive impact by reforesting communities locally.  We'll be growing coniferous seedlings - Eastern White Pine, Red Pine and Jack Pine from seeds in Rideau Lakes Township. This is with the intent of establishing a system of broad-scale tree-planting at affordable costs. For every bottle of you purchase from us, know you'll be doing a bit of extra good by supporting local and helping us, help our planet.

Join the movement. #MoreTrees
One Bottle - One Tree - One Planet.

Such an amazing idea. I’ll be helping by getting a few bottles for Christmas. Thank you.

We have planted 4000 trees on our property and have helped Top Shelf plant a few since we buy nothing but your gin at the Sharbot Lake LCBO. Keep up the good work. I hope that you reach your 2023 goal.
