Top Shelf Soju & Bootcamp
Celebrate our first release from our co-op educational placement program, Top Shelf Bootcamp. Our summer semester students have produced, from concept to completion, a traditional Korean inspired Soju. Barry and Brenna spent their term with Top Shelf Distillers, and we are sharing with you the fruit of their efforts: Canada's first rice-based Soju.
You can expect a clean crisp neutral spirit with vibrant tropical flavours of dragon fruit, lychee, and passionfruit. Our mission at Top Shelf Distillers is to leave the world better than we found it and that includes inspiring the minds of tomorrow.

On September 24, we are hosting a free event where you can enjoy and sample Barry and Brenna's new spirit. Visit the distillery, try great new drinks, and learn more about Bootcamp and how we are making Canada a bit better, one bottle at a time. We'll be labelling the new batch right there!

When Top Shelf announced their Soju, I was intrigued and felt the need to expand my alcoholized horizons. I wasn't disappointed. The Soju is definitively a new experience. With aromas of exotic fruits and a pleasant oily feeling, it has become one of my favorite palate cleanser. Now I just have to try it in cocktails before it all evaporates away...

Why Soju?
Soju is the world's most popular alcoholic beverage, but the Soju in Canada stinks! So our students set out to make a traditional rice-based Soju.
Is this corn-based spirit?
No, this is our first rice-based spirit. In fact, we are the first major distillery in Canada to produce a rice-based spirit.
What is Bootcamp?
It's our way of moving things forward. Bootcamp is our co-op program that gets students creating what they want to create.
