There’s no season like maple season. When fresh maple starts hitting the shelves, you know Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner. This maple focused cocktail is remarkably crisp and will refresh you during those warm and sunny Spring afternoons. Top Shelf’s Reunion Maple Moonshine is produced with local Ontario maple syrup. The maple flavour is accentuated and kept alive by using a maple sap soda. The slight orange flavour of the sap soda makes for a very well balanced and subtle citrus profile which lends itself well with the depth of maple and the brightness of lemon juice. A few hits of Top Shelf Chocolate Bitter takes things a step further to add that little layer of complexity, and also bridging the orange and maple flavours harmoniously.
- 1 oz Reunion Maple Moonshine
- ½ oz Simple Syrup
- ½ oz Lemon Juice
- 4 Dashes Top Shelf Chocolate Bitters
- 3-4 oz Sap Sipper “The Orange One”
Dehydrated Orange Slice
Add all ingredients except the Sap Sipper and the garnish to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Strain into an ice filled Rocks glass. Top with Sap Sipper (about 3-4 oz). Garnish with a dehydrated orange slice.
