Sage Syrup

Sage Syrup

Sage is a wonderful and unique herb known for its vegetal and herbaceous notes with just a hint of peppery flavour. While a little bit can enhance the flavour and extend the depth of your cocktails, too much (like anything) tends to overpower. That's why we've crafted this recipe to bring you mellowed notes of sage perfect for gin or vodka-based cocktails or anything with lighter floral or fruity tastes.

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 5 sage leaves

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add water to a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sugar and stir until entirely dissolved.
  3. Add sage leaves.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Let sage leaves steep for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove sage leaves.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container (glass works best) and let cool.
  8. Refrigerate.
    Keeps for one week.
