Chai Simple Syrup

Chai Simple Syrup

Spice up your cocktails with this easy to make chai syrup. Chai is generally made with a blend of cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves, but can contain many more delicious spices. Chai goes great with cherry flavours—dark berries, fruits, and flavours (such as whisk(e)y and coffee) are complemented by the complexity of the chai, resulting in a combination made in heaven.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 chai tea bags

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add water to a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sugar and stir until entirely dissolved.
  3. Add chai tea bags.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Let tea bags steep for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove tea bags.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container (glass works best) and let cool.
