Simple Syrup

Although the name "simple syrup" comes from there only being two ingredients, if you were under the impression that making your own syrup was rather complex, you'll be glad to know it really is simple. Syrups are a great way to add some sweetness and texture to your cocktails, so grab your water, your sugar, and your pot and let's get cooking!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
We use "1 cup" as a placeholder measurement—any 1:1 ratio will work just fine!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add sugar and water to a saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Simmer until the sugar has fully dissolved and the liquid has become clear.
  3. Let cool at room temperature.
  4. Keep in an airtight container (glass works best).
  5. Refrigerate.
    Keeps for two weeks.
