Cinnamon syrup can add a nice touch of spice to your cocktail. It is also delicious in coffee and on desserts. Cinnamon syrup is very popular in Tiki style cocktails. Cinnamon can compliment fruity flavours such as apple, cranberries, pears, pineapple and oranges to name a few. This syrup is versatile and will elevate just about any cocktail creation you choose to make.
2 large cinnamon sticks (20g)
½ Cup Water
½ Cup Granulated White Sugar
Snap your cinnamon sticks into smaller pieces and add to a dry saucepan. Toast the cinnamon sticks over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until the air becomes fragrant (about 4 minutes). Add the water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat once boiling and add in the sugar. Stir until all sugars are dissolved. Let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes. Remove the cinnamon sticks and bottle in a glass jar. Once the liquid is cooled, refrigerate.
