Our Top Shelf Community

Since we started in 2014, we have been celebrating our town's whisky heritage. Over the years, we’ve grown by leaps and bounds, and it is thanks to you. It's always been our responsibility to support our community with every effort.

2020 was transformational.

The Covid-19 pandemic impacted every aspect of our lives. We truly sympathize with all the difficulties facing Canadians. As your neighbour, we answered the call  to do our part as so many others did.

We make spirits. If you had told us that we’d be augmenting production to include hand sanitizer a few years ago we would have given you a confused look… funny how things work out.

As we all settled into a new routine, spending a lot more time at home, we were privileged to devise new experiences with our products that brought us together with our friends and family. This included cocktail kits shared in video calls, interactive games, monthly subscription boxes, and a whole lot more.

Now, we support local.

We have been working closely with United Way. They are a worldwide not-for-profit organization that raises support locally, directly responding to local needs. We are pleased to support their annual Schmoozefest events, which is a networking event in order to connect people to support local needs.

Throughout the pandemic, we had worked closely with the organization to allocate and donate hand sanitizers to many local organizations that were in need.

On August 17, we sponsored the GenNext event – Mix and Mingle – a very first in-person event after two years of pandemic. We are so pleased to have this opportunity to be a part of this event in order to celebrate Pride and NextGen’s causes – Diversity & Inclusive, Equitable Employment, Mental Health, and Youth Homelessness.

Tomorrow, we do even more.

Our mission at Top Shelf Distillers is to leave the world better than we found it, and that includes inspiring the minds of tomorrow. This summer we had our first release from our co-op students in our Bootcamp program.

These students have produced (from concept to completion) a traditional Korean inspired SojuTop Shelf Soju can be expected to have a clean crisp neutral spirit with vibrant tropical flavours of dragon fruit, lychee, and passionfruit. In tandem, we learned so much from these brilliant young minds.

At Top Shelf Distillers, we always encourage new ideas and support everyone to turn these ideas into actions. We believe that a failure is only when you do not have the courage to try something new.

Thank you!
